How to polish like a pro

Check out OPI’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 line up :)
Speaking of, here’s a quick tip i found online and wanted to share with all:

How to polish like a pro

Polish like a pro by following these simple steps:
  1. First clean nails, and dry completely.
  2. Then, apply a base coat to ensure a smooth surface for color application and to prevent nail polish from staining your nails.
  3. Once the base coat dries, wipe excess polish from the wand and apply a thick line down the center of the nail.
  4. Follow with two more lines of polish on each side of your first stroke.
  5. Use the polish brush to smooth any clumps, let dry, then add a second coat of polish the same way.
  6. Use a cuticle stick or Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to erase any nail polish that got on your skin during application.
  7. Once nails are completely dry finsh with a top coat to seal the color and add shine.

Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2012

Diane von Furstenberg was having a sixties moment for the spring 2012 season as models walked down the runway in beehives, color-rimmed glasses and low heel shoes. Von Furstenberg also delivered her signature prints–floral and circle motifs in merry hues of blue, yellow and green. Accessories included chic clutches, backpacks (a trend in New York Fashion Week thus far) and fringe.

Derek Lam Spring 2012

Derek Lam crafted an impeccable showing of jackets and dresses for his spring 2012 presentation shown during New York Fashion Week today. With his signature seventies flair, Lam delivered art-deco inspired prints, modified jumpsuits and menswear inspired button-up tees for a sophisticated yet sexy celebration of the feminine form. Beauty for the show was sun-kissed yet strong with rosy cheeks and slicked back ponytails.

Altuzarra Spring 2012

Altuzarra brought a sleek, almost 90s inspired showing to the New York runway for his spring 2012 collection. The garments told a story of hardness with streamlined unforgiving silhouettes which were accented by models donning strong, black brows. The sharpness was then softened with tropical prints, knit sweaters and rainbow hued skirts.

La Coste Spring 2012

Marking his debut as Lacoste creative director, designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista set to make Lacoste more modern and sleek for the label’s spring 2012 collection. Starting off with streamlined silhouettes of black, white and navy, the season certainly had a more contemporary, streetwear friendly approach while still incorporating some of Lacoste’s well-known staples such as the polo shirt, cotton pique, and sportswear separates. Baptista also used color blocking and art deco inspired prints to bring a splash of vibrance to the relaxed silhouettes.

Jason Wu Spring 2012

For spring 2012, Jason Wu delivered a collection that juxtaposed muted hues with a spring palette, giving the feminine dresses a look that that could easily transition from day to night. Starting off with retro, 40s inspired silhouettes, Wu’s protagonist brings a bit of toughness to the new season in the form of leather accents, spiked hair pieces and dramatic makeup. Wu notes that this season’s designs are inspired by pop artist Kaws. The influence can be seen in speckled prints that give way to bold hues ranging from blazing blue to canary yellow. Towards the end, shapes become more structured including heavy ruffles that brought a sense of haute couture elegance to Wu’s already classic aesthetic.

Alexander Wang Spring 2012

Wang’s Sporty Spring – Alexander Wang brought the race track to the runway today with his spring 2012 collection presented during New York Fashion Week. Models strutted down the runway with pockets made of netting, aerodynamic stripes and road sign shaped patterns. Accessories included backpacks, motorcycle helmets and hole strewn head scarves.

Jill Stuart Spring 2012

Jill Stuart’s feminine and frilly aesthetic was out in full effect for her spring 2012 showing. Sending out an army of light pastels paired off with neutral hues, Stuart goes back to childhood this season with doll-like dresses, disheveled hair and gold-plated shoes. Following up last season’s fox and owl prints, Stuart found inspiration in cherry blossoms, palm trees and song birds for spring. Walking the line between daytime and bed-wear, this collection brought a sense of sweetness to New York Fashion Week.
